Turkey’s famous holiday resort Bodrum is one of the hottest spots for world wide celebrities and Royal Families…

According to officials in the last 10 years so many celebrities and royal families visited Bodrum with their million dollar yachts.

Among them are Saudi Arabian Prince Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdul Aziz al-Saud, Kuwaiti Emir Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmed al-Sabah and Prince Hassan of Jordan, all of whom have bought villas and land in Bodrum.

Platinum Magazine, an Arabic-language, prestigious lifestyle publication owned by a member of the Saudi royal family, Prince Maha al-Shaikh, dedicated four pages to Bodrum in one of its recent issues. The article praised Bodrum’s and Yalıkavak’s natural beauty, adding that many international celebrities had made huge investments in Bodrum for holiday purposes.

Mayor of Yalıkavak, Mustafa Saruhan, said the total investments made by Middle Eastern princes, kings and sheiks in the past 10 years are over 500 million euros.

Top executives from Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Lebanon, Bahrain and Qatar, who have bought land in Bodrum, are also spending their summer holidays with their families in luxury yachts berthed at Bodrum marinas, he said. The mayor also highlighted an article printed in Platinum Magazine titled, “The city of celebrities and yacht fans,” praising Bodrum and its drawing points.

İbrahim Çeçen of Çeçen Real Estate Investment said scores of top executives, especially from Saudi Arabia, and then from Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Lebanon and Egypt had bought land in Yalıkavak, a district of Bodrum, and had built luxury villas worth up to 20 million euros.

Most recently, Libyan President Moammar Gadhafi’s sons Motossim Bilal and Hannibal Gadhafi spent their vacation in Bodrum last summer and were looking for land to build a hotel, Çeçen said. “Land prices in the region have skyrocketed. The reason for this is that celebrities prefer Bodrum and Yalıkavak both for holidays and investments.”

From the Ottoman dynasty, Sultan Murad’s fifth grandchild, Osman Selaheddin Osmanoğlu, also owns a villa in Yalıkavak. The ownership of these villas and title deeds belong to either architects, embassy personnel, honorary consulates or relatives who live in Turkey.

Campbell landed at Bodrum-Milas airport on Sunday evening in a private jet with Russian billionaire Vladislav Voronin, whom she could marry soon, according to rumors.

To escape the press, Campbell rode in two different luxury cars to Milta Marina A.Ş., where the press was not permitted after she and Voronin arrived. Prior to boarding the “Blue Denim,” a 55-meter-long yacht, Campbell and Voronin waited in their cars for 20 minutes as a security search was conducted around the yacht.

Campbell and Voronin were expected to sail Monday morning from Bodrum Port.

The Oscar-winning stars have been holidaying in Greece and touring Europe in a luxury yacht.

The pair, along with children Dylan, 11, and eight- year-old Carys, have been admiring the Acropolis Museum which houses masterpieces of ancient Greek civilisation and art, including sculptures, friezes, and figurines.

The couple was touring the European coast in their luxury yacht the Mary Juaner. Since they could not sail due to harsh weather conditions, they walked round Bodrum visiting a night club.

There presence in the town attracted a lot of attention with many local and foreign fans wanting to take photos of the star couple, who then retreated back to their yacht docked in the Bodrum Marina Yatch Club.

Bodrum Mayor Mazlum Agan, who has held his post for two terms, is running again this month as the People’s Republican Party, or CHP, candidate. Talking about his projects, Agan said they will build a replica of King Mausolus’ Mausoleum, which is currently on display at the British Museum.

Stating they would erect the mausoleum near the 2,500-year-old Ancient Theatre, Agan said: “The place of King Mausolus’ Mausoleum is being visited by thousands of tourists every year. However, they can only see remains of the mausoleum. For that reason, we will build a model mausoleum on a one-to-one scale of the original mausoleum.”

Mausolus, the king of Caria, ruled until his death in 353 BC. Queen Artemisia had a mausoleum built for her husband that was to be known as the finest tomb in the known world.

The mausoleum, standing at over 50 meters, is described as being an enormous white marble tomb with ionic columns to form a temple with a stepped pyramid roof topped with a carriage. Inside the carriage were statues of Mausolus and Artemisia, drawn by four horses. It stood relatively intact for almost 16 centuries until an earthquake in 1304 destroyed it and then it was further broken up in 1522 by the Knights Hospitaller, who used the material to build a castle.

The site has gardens with excavations to the right and a covered arcade to the left. The arcade contains a copy of the famous frieze mainly recovered from the castle walls. The original was sent to the British Museum in London in 1846. Four original fragments were discovered more recently.

Mustafa’s hotel “Mandal Otel” is located in Gundogan. A 5 star hotel with a very nice interior design. I expect the hotel to be filled with stars and celebrities.

Mustafa just released his new album “Devami Var” already his sixth studio album. After Musti took a career break in 2005, it seems he is back at the top again.
